After her younger brother left for the Naval Academy, one woman's rescue of a chatty kitten helped fill the quiet at home

Sometimes the family member you didn't expect is exactly the one you need. 

After her youngest brother headed off to the Naval Academy in Annapolis, one woman found herself sitting with the emotions that come from watching your family grow up. A week filled with goodbyes had finally come to an end, the house felt noticeably quieter, and she was left wondering what this next chapter would look like. Then an energetic little cat came running into her life and refused to be ignored.

The friendly feline had plenty of personality but wasn't quick to trust.   • Those eyes are unbelievably adorable. They're so big and expressive that they steal the show before you even notice anything else. Annie looks like she's taking in every little detail around her, and that wide-eyed expression makes her even harder to resist.
